iPoker is a game simulator that know 101 different games. This program places an emphasis on multimedia fatures, the robot opponents are video characters who briefly come to live to make their plays, recorded voices declare “I raise”, “Too much for me”, “Uhh”. They go through several standard expressions, I just wish there were a greater variety of subtle expressions they may show when bluffing. There’s also a speech synthesis dealer voice reporting the game status. You can use quicktime and a camera to add your own video characters.

The opponent skills are sufficient to challenge my meager skills. Play is a bit slow with all the simulated chatter and character animation turned. Those hardcore internet players doing 100 games a day can turn off the animated features with the program preferences’ “play speed” slider control. A reasonable compromise is to check the “Fast Playout” option, that quickly plays through the hand after you fold. The Free demo download only plays 7 card stud, paying the $25 registration fee enables the other 100 games.
